Personality PGS portability is limited

Using the new, much larger personality GWAS lead variants, one can build country‑level genetic scores for Big Five traits and test whether they predict reported national personality differences; early results show most traits fail cross‑population tests and only a single trait remained consistent across multiple frequency and genotype panels. This suggests that genetic predictors for individual variation do not automatically translate into robust, policy‑relevant population differences. — If PGS for personality don’t reliably travel between populations, policymakers, media, and researchers should be cautious about using them to justify claims about national or ethnic personality differences.
